Say What???!!!!

You Guys and Gals are not going to believe this one.... I did a BUY It Now on Mar -11 2006 for this item: SONY,CMT-EX1 - Desktop Hi-Fi System Today, I got an email....Here it is: hello, thank you for your payment. would you please leave me a positive feedback so paypal can release funds to my bank account, cause i dont have enough money to pay for the shipping, please let me know, thank you so much. What the heck is this seller trying to do???? I'm not that CRAZY to give up my rights.... How would you reply? I know what I want to say...lol|||It's probably complete BS. As a premier PayPal member I can transfer my PayPal balance to my bank account within 3-4 business days. I wouldn't leave feedback, because this may cause it to look like you've received the item already, which you haven't This is just my take on the situation.|||Don't give the positive feedback. The funds are on 21 day hold because the seller is new or due to the nature of the item. Tell your seller that Paypal funds will be released 3 days after DC. The sooner the seller ships with DC the better. If the seller cannot comply report them as NPS. Susan|||PayPal feels that for some reason the seller is suspect. It could be that he's new. It could be that he has had alot of problems. DO NOT LEAVE FEEDBACK. email them and tell them that you will be glad to leave them feedback once you have received the item, and you are satisfied. If they do not ship, file a dispute. You are entitled to your own opinions; but you're not entitled to your own facts|||You Guys and Gals are not going to believe this one.... It happens quite often. It's probably complete BS. Not it is not. Pay Pal puts some sellers on a 21 day hold for funds. OP - send your seller an email stating that while you understand the frustration - his issue is with Pay Pal, and you expect him to ship in a timely manner. And, that you will leave feedback once you've received and inspected your item. Your seller can also have his funds released once he gives proof of delivery to Pay Pal. Someone pass me an explanation and a Tanq on the rocks please ...|||Let him know that as soon as the item is delivered he can call Paypal and they will release the funds within 3 days. Don't get mad at him, this is probably a new situation for him. If he has less than 100 feedback, and/or sells electronics, eBay will continue to do this to him. Let him know that you will be happy to leave feedback after the item arrives and you have inspected it. Express sympathy for his situation but do not leave the feedback. The two of you can probably work this out.|||Also, specialoops is wrong - his situation is not at all the same as your seller's.|||This seller has only 9 feedback. I've heard many new sellers say that they can't afford to pay for the shipping until they get the payment from PayPal. PayPal/eBay policy require them to ship once payment is received, not when it is deposited in their bank account. If he hasn't shipped 7 days after the listing ended you can file an Item Not Received claim with eBay/PayPal. If they seller doesn't provide tracking info you'll get a refund. Jennifer Brooklyn NYC|||New Sellers with less then 100 FB, I believe get their funds held for 21 days or until positive feedback is left. eBay implemented this about a year ago to metigate scammers. He is just a new buyer that doesnt know better. Personally I would educate them and let them know I will leave positive feedback once the transaction has ended for me in positive manner. Meaning I got the item in the condition it was described in, within reasonable time. Or you can choose to ignore them, but dont be too harsh, new sellers are freightened of ebay as much as most new buyers.|||With eBay's hyper focus on the selling experience, I'd think they'd do something about this? But it was months ago that eBay said they understood the problem, and were working to fix it. How hard would it be for eBay to allow a seller to print out (through PayPal) a shipping label addressed to the buyer? Meanwhile, thousands of buyers are getting this crappy service? You are entitled to your own opinions; but you're not entitled to your own facts|||eBay's solution will probably be to require new sellers to deposit a sum of money into PayPal so that it can be used to cover shipping. Or some other equally stupid measure. You are entitled to your own opinions; but you're not entitled to your own facts|||PayPal is holding funds for new sellers because they were sick of paying refunds out of their own pockets. If they can't afford to ship without the funds they should not be selling on eBay. Asking the buyer to circumvent the process and leave feedback so they can withdraw their funds is shady. How many then clean out their accounts and leave PayPal holding the back when the buyer files a claim???? Don't do it, you want the money to be in his account if the widget is not received as advertised. You want it to be available to refund to you.|||holding the bag, not back. sheesh.|||The funds are released as soon as the seller provides delivery confirmation proving delivery or the buyer leaves positive feedback. This isn't new, it has been going on for over a year and sellers are clearly notified about it when they list.|||
