I think eBay cases are a joke.

THE FIRST 2 OF THESE SCENARIOS HAVE HAPPENED TO ME: 1. After ordering the wrong item, buyer sends you an eBay message wanting a refund. You tell him that it's CLEARLY stated in your product description is that returns are only accepted if DOA. Next thing you know, the buyer opens an eBay case against you and wants a refund because the item is DOA. He gives eBay a tracking number and they issue a full refund there on the spot. The item comes back broken in a dozen pieces. 2. Buyer orders the wrong item. Admits his mistake and wants a refund. You remind him that return for this item is subject to 20% restocking fee. Next thing you know, the buyer opens an eBay case against you. He provides eBay a tracking number and they issue a full refund there on the spot. THIS IS WHAT I CAN SEE HAPPENING NEXT... 3. For whatever reason, the buyer wants a refund. He opens an eBay case against you. He provides eBay a tracking number and they issue a full refund there on the spot. Some other item comes back, and you're screwed because you can't appeal the case. I think eBay cases are a complete joke.-i love ePork|||Returns are a cost of doing business in nearly every retail store. If you force people to jump through hoops to get a return, don't complain when they jump through hoops. In our society, buyers can return things to some stores months after purchase and get their money back. Get with the century! Online retailing ONLY survives because of liberal return policies. Otherwise you would be expecting far more trust than most people have. Too many sellers want to accept the rewards of selling online without the costs.|||You might as well make your return policy close to eBay's Buyer Protection policy. And be polite and professional when accepting a return, so that the buyer doesn't have to go through eBay to get their money back. This will save you a lot of headaches, and possibly negative feedback. I would also include the serial number of the item, and a picture of that number in your description. This will discourage any bait and switch returns; and give you some ammunition should you ever need to appeal a bait and switch return. Our return policy is 30 days money back after delivery, including return shipping, no questions asked. Realistically we will accept a return up to 45 days after purchase; the difference being that we don't reimburse return shipping if the item is returned within 45 days, but outside of our 30-day policy.friends Director,|||your return policy is trumped by eBay's so better to change yours so you don't look like a hard azz and get disputes filed against you without buyer contact. Disputes/cases count against you. You can be suspended from eBay for having too many of them.
