When I plug in my phone, I get this error:

It seems I can no longer transfer data back and forth from my phone and computer. I am ready to uninstall my iTunes, but I'm worried I will lose all my playlist song info. Anybody ever have this problem, and if so how much should I start backing up before I embark on this chore?
